As the most experienced robotic gastrointestinal surgeon in Hawaii, the only female in Hawaii fellowship trained in minimally invasive surgical procedures, and one of only a few female endoscopists on Oahu, Dr. Bueno’s reputation as a cutting-edge innovator and leader in her field is well-earned.  Her experience ranges from being a general surgeon in a rural, mid-Western community, to surgical faculty at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, and currently a private practice surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Hawaii – John A. Burns School of Medicine.  On the international front, she has the “inside track” on international developments in endoscopy due to her active participation on the Endoscopy Committee of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
